The World’s Wife

The World’s Wife by Carol Ann Duffy
Adapted for the stage by Mephisto Theatre Company

This is our stage adaptation of the poetry book of the same name by UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Dragging overlooked characters from the past into modern contexts, The World’s Wife is a quirky and honest journey through the dark world of the forgotten female. The show features characters such as Mrs. Freud, Medusa, Queen Kong, and Mrs. Darwin. It combines a powerful text with strong theatricality and has consistently delighted and moved its audiences. A beauty from start to finish.

“Superb… touching… a powerhouse threesome… this true ensemble’s use of space, props and dramatic timing is exceptional… The production has it all: humour, horror and pathos thanks to an exuberant ensemble cast who don’t miss any of Duffy’s deft beats” (5 STARS) –  Metro

“A fine acerbic feminist work…the clever use of verse was hypnotic.”Munster Express
